KS1 is a meeting place and 'play space' for the creative network of K•Swiss, rather than just a concept store. In the context of the presentation of the new K-Swiss Ariake parkour shoe for example, local party crew Ontfront and photographer Empresita Seria collaborated in the exhibition ‘Bir-Hakeim’ and threw an opening party presenting Parisian based DJ Detect to the Amsterdam scene. The reportage is shot at the surroundings of the Bir Hakeim metro station in Paris and features Holland's top parcour star Monkey (Unleashed). more pictures >
Together with Catharina Groeninx van Zoelen, heiress of the Huys ten Donck estate, Best Company developed the Creative Challenge Call winning concept The Donck Sessions. Reinstating the original function of the Rococo style estate –a casual but elegant meeting place for decision makers- The Donck Sessions invites innovators from various disciplines (business, creative industry, government and science) to share and develop ideas on the hot topic of sustainability.
inside + insight, the quarterly publication we make togehter with design studio Mannschaft, for management training center De Baak won the 'Silver Feather' for best design, and came in second for best visual concept at the Grandprix Business Publications 2007. A big cheers for our client (for putting up with our hard nosed concept quality control)
Best Company was selected for the job of communicating the 2007 edition of Arnhem Fashion Biennale. Together with designers Daniel van der Velden and Maureen Mooren we finetuned this edition's theme to HAPPY and developped loads of fun tools to tell a broad audience all about this fab international 'art of fashion' event.
Best Company collaborates with K•Swiss on the implementation of their Amsterdam connection store KS1. The first ‘connection project’ kicked off in March 2007 with Parisian cultural agency Platforme Bureau who invaded the space with its itinerant urban In-Store bringing a handpicked selection of t-shirts, toys, cd's, records, magazines, bags and other wearables and accessories from their network. PB held an exhibition with Paris based artists Simon Bernheim and Event10, a showcase by cool Parisian indie band Stuck In The Sound, performing live at KS1, and launched their own Fake/Real magazine #2 featuring their custom K•Swiss campaign >.
KS1 Amsterdam
The first ‘post-concept store’ we helped K•Swiss Europe conceive, called ‘KS1 Amsterdam’, just had it’s pre-opening for intimi before holiday breaks. While the final finishing touch is being made for a true kick off first thing come January 2007, we didn’t want to keep these first look-pics from you.

For Life - inspirational publication for ABN AMRO private banking clients
Best Company was recruited by advertising agency PPGH to help fine-tune the concept of this unique publication and manage the content of six in-depth interviews with high profile entrepreneurs like Eckart Wintzen, Willem van Kooten and Robert-Jan van Ogtrop about ‘putting your money where your heart is’, be it in nature, durability, ethics, sharing knowledge, cultural heritage or modern art. We would never have made the crazy 'drop-deadline' on this quality job without the amazing help of star-writers Yoeri Albrecht and Binnert de Beaufort.

K•Swiss
For K•Swiss Europe we do various research and consulting jobs, like for an international chain of image stores to be opened soon. The first store will open in the fall of 2006 in Amsterdam, in the former Fanclub building on the corner of Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal and Wijdesteeg to be exact. During the construction period we invited local artists Rafael Rosendaal and Simon Wald-Lasowski to do a window project. more pictures >>
